Tech2Learn - About the Project

Tech2Learn (T2L) is a pilot professional development project facilitated by the eight Ohio Educational Technology Agencies and is funded via a generous grant from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. T2L provides teachers and administrators with resources and research-based practices for effective integration of SMART interactive whiteboards within K-8 classrooms.

T2L is a year long program, August 2008 through May 2009, consisting of several interactive sessions. The multi-session series approach is designed to allow for immediate application within the classroom.  Sessions blend curricular concepts with technology applications and allow for time to design, practice, and plan implementation in the classroom to ensure that technology enriched instruction is standards-based and aligned to intended student learning outcomes.

Tech2Learn targets educator-administrator teams that are SMART Board "rookies" - those that are new users of SMART Boards. A T2L team consists of 1-2 classroom teachers and a building/district administrator (e.g. principal, technology coordinator, curriculum director). T2L participants gain operational knowledge of SMART Boards as well as gather strategies and tools for the creation of active, student-centered learning environments. Teams walk away with lessons, resources and assessment tools to assist them in successfully utilizing SMART Boards.
